Shoulder to Shoulder (Back)

Waist
Stand naturally with your arms relaxed by your sides. Bend your elbows slightly, and where your elbows bend is your natural waist, which is usually the narrowest point of your torso. If you have a rounder shape or rolls, avoid sucking in your stomach.

Total Chest
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape snug but not tight. Keep your arms relaxed at your sides, not raised. Note: The widest point of the chest can vary and may not align with the nipples.

Highest Point of Hips
Measure approximately 3 inches below your waist, at the top of your hip bone. Keep your feet together and take a full 360° measurement.

Widest Point of Hips
Measure about 8 inches below your waist, at the widest point of your hips or buttocks. Keep your feet together and take a full 360° measurement.

Single Thigh
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your thigh, just below the buttocks. Keep your legs straight and take a full 360° measurement.

Widest Point of Upper Arm
Measure around the widest part of your upper arm. If you prefer a looser fit, flex or bend your arm slightly. Otherwise, leave your arm straight at your side.

Shoulder to Shoulder (Back)
Measure from one shoulder bone to the other across the back of your neck. If you’re unsure where your shoulder tips are, take a well-fitting shirt with a collar and sleeves, and measure from seam to seam across the shoulders.

Sleeve Length (Straight Arm)

Widest Point of Calf

Front, Shoulder to Floor
Stand tall and measure the front of your body from the top of your shoulder to the floor. Ensure you measure from the top of your shoulder, over your chest, keeping a straight, vertical line.

Outseam, Waist to Ankle
Measure from your waist to your ankle along the outside of your body.

Crotch
Tie a string around your natural waist. Measure from the centre of the front of your waist, under your crotch, to the centre of the back of your waist.

Sleeve Length (Straight Arm)
Measure from your shoulder bone to your wrist bone, letting your arm hang naturally. This is for most tops and outerwear. If measuring for a suit jacket, consider adding 2 inches (4 cm) or your preferred sleeve length.

Widest Point of Calf
Take a full 360° measurement around the widest part of your calf. This measurement is especially important if you have larger or smaller calves.
